March Madness at Aster
The Madness is quickly approaching our College Park community. The 2023 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, more commonly known as “March Madness” or “The Big Dance”, is just around the corner, and Aster is perfectly located to enjoy all of the games.
The tournament officially starts with the “First Four” games set to be played on March 14th and 15th. The rest of the tournament will begin on March 16th. March Madness is second only to the NFL’s Super Bowl in sporting-event popularity. Countless people will fill out “brackets” trying to predict how the tournament will go. All the games will lead to the championship game in Houston’s NRG Stadium on April 3rd.
Our hometown UMD Terrapins are looking to make their way into the tournament. They currently sit in second place in the Big Ten conference heading into the conference tournament. If they can successfully navigate the Big Ten tournament and knock off (currently) top-seeded Purdue, the Terps can earn an automatic bid to The Big Dance. If they cannot secure an automatic bid, they will need to wait for Selection Sunday on March 12th to see if the Selection Committee awards them an at-large bid to the tournament.
The games will be broadcast live on CBS, TBS, TNT, and TruTV. Hulu will also be streaming the games.
