What’s in a name?

Aster is the greek word for star and is also a native wildlife flower found in Maryland. Since ancient times the aster has been considered an enchanted flower that symbolizes patience, love, and wisdom. The aster is an emblem of Venus, the goddess of love, and Greek mythology claims that when Virgo scattered stardust over the Earth asters bloomed where it settled. Known for their star-like shape, asters symbolize things radiating from a central core, much as this property is becoming a central hub that life in College Park revolves around.
